Because…I see commercials about becoming dental assistants all day,everyday but i don’t ever see any about dental hygienist.I also can’t find any 2 yr or community colleges that offer dental hygiene in TN.How can it be a growing career if its so hard to find a school to go to for it?

I’d really hope to be a dental hygienist,but I just don’t know about it anymore.It seems too difficult to get into.

I want to spend a year taking my general ed credits then the next year take the one year dental-assisting program. After I finish, i want to work as a dental assistant while i finish my general ed to transfer and study dental hygiene to be a dentist. Is this a reasonable plan or are there any better ideas?
